Buy an email credit pack
Per-organization email quota, Lemon Squeezy top-up, threshold notifications.
Updated May 23, 2026
Email quota and credit packs
To prevent spam and abuse, Kimono caps outbound emails per organization. Each send (auto notification or targeted broadcast) consumes a credit.
Check your quota
Admin panel → Communication → Quota (or the banner at the top of the composer).
Shows:
- Remaining credits.
- Credits used this month.
- Last purchase date.
Buy a pack
Buy a pack button → redirected to the matching Lemon Squeezy page. One pack = 1000 credits by default (platform-configurable).
Card payment → back to Kimono → credits added to your organization immediately (via the order_created webhook).
Threshold alerts
When your quota drops below a critical line, Kimono sends an alert email to the organization Owner:
- Low: 200 credits left.
- Critical: 50 credits left.
- Exhausted: 0 credits, sends blocked until top-up.
What consumes credits
- Targeted emails via the composer.
- Transactional auto-notifications (signup, invoice, reminder, etc.).
- Trial-class confirmations.
- Document reminders.
- Unpaid-invoice reminders.
What doesn't
- In-app notifications (panel only).
- Emails sent from your own mail client (not via Kimono).
- SMS and push notifications (not implemented currently).
Use case — back-to-school campaign
You plan 3 emails (announcement, D-7 reminder, D-1 nudge) to 200 members. 600 credits.
- Check balance: 250 credits → not enough.
- Buy 1 pack = +1000 → balance 1250.
- Run your 3 sends comfortably (600 used).
- Final balance 650, ready for next month.
Use case — quota dry mid-campaign
Credits gone, sends blocked. Fix:
- Buy a pack right now (card payment, credits land in under a minute).
- Resume your send.
Best practices
- Act when the banner turns orange — don't wait for red.
- For an exceptional mass campaign, buy in advance (avoids incident).
- Track usage month over month: if you keep blowing the quota, request a recurring pack from support.
